Cy5 DiSE(Di SO3) - Introduction
Cy5(cyanine5) is a fluorescent dye commonly used in biomedical research and immunofluorescence staining. It has strong photostability and optical properties and can emit fluorescence in the near-infrared wavelength range. It is widely used in cell fluorescent markers, protein, nucleic acid and drug research and tracking.
Synthesis of Cy5 is typically synthesized by combining a suitable dimethylindole fluorescent dye with a reactant. There are many synthetic methods, the most common of which is the reaction of dimethylindole fluorescent dye with the corresponding activator (such as diethyl phosphate or dihydrotrimethylurea phosphate).
Since Cy5 is an organic dye, it is necessary to pay attention to its safe use. For pure chemicals, it is necessary to follow routine laboratory safety practices, including wearing personal protective equipment (e. g. gloves, goggles) and avoiding contact with skin. In addition, products for biological applications need to be used according to the requirements of biological experiments and in accordance with the corresponding laboratory practices and safety guidelines.
